Holidays in the Vineyards 2019

The Livermore Valley has a lot to enjoy during the holidays, but snow is not on the list. The way we like to get in the holiday spirit is to participate in the annual Holidays in the Vineyards.

This annual event is wonderful! Participating wineries welcome visitors with special wine tasting flights, arts and crafts sales, and holiday music. This year’s winery list included: Bent Creek, Boa Ventura, Caddis Winery, Cedar Mountain Winery & Port Works, Charles R Vineyards, Crooked Vine Winery, Cuda Ridge Wines, Dante Robere Vineyards, Eagle Ridge Vineyards, El Sol Winery, Embodied Wines, Garré Vineyard & Winery, Las Positas Vineyards, Longevity Wines, McGrail Vineyards, Mitchell Katz Winery, Murrieta’s Well, Nella Terra Winery, Occasio Winery, Page Mill Winery, The Singing Winemaker, The Steven Kent Winery, Winemaker’s Studio, Wente Vineyards, and Wood Family Vineyards.

Clearly, nobody can visit all of these wineries in just two days, so difficult decisions are needed. We tend to select our Holiday wineries based on the arts and crafts booths typically involved and particular food pairings. Our list varies year to year so that over our 30 years in the valley, we have visited pretty much the entire list. Here is a quick look at what we saw during our day.

This year we started at Charles R Winery. This is a favorite for us because we know that we can count on a the wonderful collection of artisans showing their wares. Once again, we left with a number of gifts!

Our next stop was Las Positas Vineyards. Not only were there some great vendors, the winery was offering a chocolate truffle and wine pairing that will be the topic for an article to be published soon

From there, we went to Dante Robere Vineyards, which was full of holiday spirit:

Our final stop was Rubino Estates Winery, just bursting with holiday gifts:

Another wonderful Holiday in the Vineyards event!
